Fly For Fun! CMLF
News:
April 11, 2015: David Boackle took a few pics during our club meeting.
September 20, 2014: Our “Just For Fun Poker Run” was a very successful event. I counted 9 planes and 16 friends in attendance. We had very nice weather with just enough clouds to make it fun. The food was great at Lake Tiak-O’Khata in Louisville. John Mudgett won the poker hand with 2 pair. We had a great time being together, eating, and lounging around the lake a bit before taking the 2 airport vans back to Louisville airport. We strapped back in our planes around 2:00 p.m. for an enjoyable flight back to Harrell Field. Click here to view the pics taken during this trip.
April 26, 2014: We had about 8 planes to make the trip to Dauphin Island. We started out from various locations and talked on 122.75mhz on the way down. We encountered fog and low ceiling as we neared the coast, so for safety, we all decided to make a stop at McClain to let the sky clear a bit. We left again and flew to Ronnie Smith's strip for a restroom and topped off fuel. We arrived at Dauphin Island around noon and boarded a shuttle ride to the Gumbo Festival where we enjoyed eating and fellowship. Several of us went to TJ's Restaurant on the waterfront to watch the boats coming in. Some guy and his wife landed in an ultralight seaplane and taxied right up to the restaurant. We left around 3:00p.m. and flew down the beach again before departing for home.
Thanks to Regina Coker for all the work she did to set up this trip. We hope
to get CMLF activities back on track for fun flying again this year. This was a
very enjoyable trip and we look forward to many more!
